FAQs

How much of what I spend goes to MHA?

100% of your donation goes to MHA.

Can I purchase a gift on behalf of someone else?

Yes, you can. You can make a donation on behalf of someone else. For each gift, you will receive an email that contains a pdf gift voucher that can be printed or emailed to anyone. Unfortunately, we do not at present have the ability to post out gift vouchers directly.

How will I receive the gift(s)?

You will receive a receipt email detailing all of your donations/virtual gifts, along with an email for each individual virtual gift (as detailed above), once you have completed the donation process.

How do I ensure the gift(s) is received by a relative or friend in a specific service?

Unfortunately, you cannot specify a particular service to benefit from the virtual gift itself (this may change in the future), but you can specify which area of the country you would like your gift to support. All donations received without a specific area of support will be used where the need is greatest.

Will my donation be used for the specific gift?

Our virtual gifts have been selected to represent the wide range of care, support and activities we provide to older people across Britain. Some of our gifts relate directly to unique costs, for example a meal, hand massage, piece of equipment. Others do not, with proceeds from these being used to support larger projects like our Green Open Spaces activities and Seize the Day initiatives. All donations received will be used to support activities related to the individual virtual gifts listed on our website. Any donations over and above the virtual gift amount, such as if you decide to round up your donation amount, may be used where the need is greatest.

Can I have a refund after I have donated?

Unfortunately, refunds will not be available once a donation has been received, as per the Fundraising Regulator Code.

Do you sell Christmas Cards?

Yes we do! They can be found on the main virtual gifts webpage, where we have four designs available. Our Christmas card designs were chosen via a Christmas card competition this year and we picked the best four designs that came back in from our residents, members, volunteers and staff. A description of each design can be found under the card itself. All proceeds from the sales of Christmas cards will go directly to supporting older people across Britain.
